Halloween Forest School – Saturday 31/10/2020
11.30 – 2.30pm (timed entry every 15 minutes between 11.30 – 2pm)
SOLD OUT – Due to huge demand our Forest School sessions are fully booked. If you would like to join our reserve list please email [email protected] and we’ll let you know if a space becomes available
Bring the kids to the Old School for a little taste of spooky Forest School-style fun this half term! Join us for a special Halloween-themed session of fun activities in our Wildlife Garden, and stop by the cafe for a warming drink and a hauntingly-good cake or bite to eat afterwards.
We’ll be cooking up spells in our witchy mud kitchen, mixing potions for our caldron, decorating pumpkins and much, much more!
Activities will be set up in the Wildlife Garden for children to discover and engage with as they like – these are not guided sessions, so all children must be accompanied by a parent or adult, though we will be on hand to help. Families with children of all ages are welcome to take part, though activities are especially suited to little ones. We will go ahead in most weathers, and many of the activities will take place off the path. Children are most welcome to dress up, but please also dress to keep warm and dry, and expect to get a little messy!
Because of the need to comply with Covid-19 safety measures, entry to the Forest School area will be restricted to one group every fifteen minutes. Time slots will start at 11.30am, with the final entry slot at 2pm.
Tickets must be booked in advance.
Tickets cost £3 for first child, £2 for each subsequent child (adults and babes in arms are free!).
Maximum group size is six people, to include at least one adult.
In normal circumstances, Forest School enables children to freely choose how and when they participate in activities, but under current regulations, and given the small size of our outdoor space, we can’t run this event the way we would ideally want to.
Instead, there will be a one-way path to follow, with nature-inspired and Halloween-themed activities set up at intervals along it. Hand cleaning stations will be set up at each activity too, and we ask that parents ensure children use these between each activity, and wait for activity stations to be free before they move on to the next area.
Please note that toilet facilities and the cafe are inside the building (there is cafe seating outside). Masks must be worn at all times when inside the Old School, unless you are seated (children under the age of 11 do not need to wear masks).
